29th March 2008

I was up till 5 this morning talking to Maddy. She was drunk and had came home upset over an arguement she had with her friend, so I did my best to calm her down. I managed to get her number that way, because I said if she ever needs to talk to someone, she can phone me, but I had no ulterior motive. It was just something that occured to me afterwards.

I woke up at 8, hoping to get ready, finish packing, and do my washing up, as I had burgers last night and the baking tray was greasy. I was too tired however, so I ended up having another 30 minutes in bed, and leaving Claire to clean it up. It's vindictive and petty, but I had to clean her baking tray when she left it for a week after having fish.

I got up and showered, and everything, and then packed away all the things I didn't pack last night. My dirty clothes, my toiletries and my laptop. I didn't realise I had so many dirty clothes... Or clothes in general as it came out as 3 black bin bags full.

Martin, my step-Dad came to pick me up, loaded up the car and we set off. We get on now as I don't live at home anymore. However, the harmony only lasts as long as a week, before we get up each other's noses again. We talked about general things, like our experiences being drunk, and their holiday they had in Scotland last week. We got back to Redcar and I walked into the lounge.

Our dog, Maxi, was being shaved. He was on a big silver table and tied to it so he wouldn't go anyway. I have never seen him so still as just then. My Mother told me how they saw a rat hanging on the bird feeders. I mentioned we should have let Maxi try to find it, but after thinking about it, the rat is probably bigger than Maxi.

After that, the day just went normal. I sat and chatted for a bit, and ate some of my Easter egg. Then I went upstairs and started watching TV and did that for the rest of the day. Then my parents went out, as they are staying at my step-Dad's sister's house. I did some washing and then I phoned my friend Claire from Northern Ireland. That was pretty cool, as I met her on the internet and have known her for just over a year, yet this was the first time I've spoken to her.

After that, I just sat on the internet, continued watching 'Teachers' hoping that Maddy would come online. She goes back home on Monday and doesn't have the internet there, so I have a limited time with her.

Tomorrow is going to be my last lazy day, until I start doing work.

28th March 2008

There really isn't much point in making a blog today, but I like to keep things going.

I woke up about 2pm, and decided to go to the bank to give in some money which really eneeds to be in my account. I got ready to go, but then stupidly signed on to MSN. Maddy was online, so I decided to talk to her for a bit. That little bit went on for 4 hours and the bank then closed.

I sat on the internet for a while longer before deciding to eat the steaks and beans that were in the flat as I didn't want to take them home because my Step-Dad would eat them. After eating, I finally decided to pack my things for tomorrow.

It didn't take long because I didn't have the money to wash my clothes, so it will all just be shoved into black bin bags and I'll wash them when at home, which will be the opposite of fun as I can't use their washing machine very well.

Then I just sat around for the night. My Step-Dad is coming in the morning before 10 to pick me up so I wanted to go to bed early, but as always, I am awake at this time typing this blog which no one but me even reads.

I should warn you though, that if anyone is actually reading this, it will be very boring over the next 3 weeks as I have no money to go anywhere or do anything.

Although, I am spending the day with my ex girlfriend on Wednesday, I will hopefully be going on a date with Maddy, and I will have my birthday in the final week.

But, I repeat, if you are looking for a stimulating account of a rip roaringly fun day, you are reading the wrong blog. It is pretty poor when I have things to do, nevermind when all I'll be doing is living the American dream - Sat on my backside in a pair of shorts, watching TV and sleeping a lot. The only problem is, I don't live in America, so I will be seen as a layabout and told to get a job.

God bless England.

27th March 2008

The day couldn't have started out any better. Not only did I sleep in through my alarm, but I missed the first seminar in the very important conference I was supposed to be at. We were told that if we didn't go to this, we would fail the second year of the course. I have never got dressed and ready quicker than that before in my life.

I managed to see Shell, who was one of my teachers outside the building and explained what happened and she brought me to where I should be... Yes, I lied to her. I told her the electricity went out in the flat and reset our alarm clocks to 12pm.

I saw our course leader, and she gave me my name tag, which was spelled correctly for a change, and took me to the seminar. It was about trusting strangers I think. I missed the first 10 minutes so I had to sit out and just watch, which was lucky because it was a partner activity, and I would have made the numbers odd. The woman giving the lecture was an interesting lady. She was kind of eccentric. She would be cool to have as your lecturer, but a nightmare to be stuck in a lift with.

After that had finished, we went to the next one which was about learning outdoors. It was so boring, I'm glad it only lasted 45 minutes. After that, there was a speech from the people who made it, then food, but I felt disgusting as I hadn't showered so went home.

I then walked into University to hand in an assignment which I had done that night and it took me less than an hour. Or it would have, if I hadn't spent 4 hours procrastinating.

Then I went shopping and bought some much needed food and supplies, then I went home. I then did absolutely nothing for the rest of the day. After 2 weeks of solid working and hardly any time off, it was so nice to just sit and relax.

26th March 2008

Well I woke up early because I had to go in to University today at 9am, so I woke about 8am, then set off 40 minutes later. I couldn't go in the shower because the drain is blocked, so I had to wear my hat all day. It didn't look so bad when I had hair, but now I look like a bit of a fool. I also have started looking like some guy from a TV show everyone keeps saying I look like.

I went into Applied Networking, and sat through the lecture. It was interesting. The subject is quite boring, but Phil, the lecturer is really funny and cool, so he makes it interesting. Then he took us to see the University server which is very unique as it is the only server in the world that doesn't need air conditioning. That solves the mystery of why it crashes all the time.

Then we went to Research Methods, and of course, Jenni started being a bitch because I had missed lessons, but every time she tried to pick fault, I knocked it back by producing work she thought I hadn't done. That lesson went by smoothly after that. Then they asked me to come in over the holidays for the group work, once a week, but with it being a £15 round trip, I can't do it, so they'll have to make do with emails and live with it.

Then I went home and woke Slater up. He said he would borrow me money so I could Go to Redcar to get some of my birthday money from my parents early. He said he'd get it to me, because the quicker he gave it to me, the quicker I could get back to Redcar. A couple of hours went by and I just killed time. Eventually, Mandeep gave me the money because Slater was being lazy, so I walked to the train station.

The second I turned up at the station, my train appeared, so I was pretty lucky. I had my headphones in my ears, and faced the window, so when the ticket man came round, he ignored me and I didn't pay. I was hoping to get away with it on the way back, which I have yet to do. The train was very boring and I was having trouble staying awake.

Eventually, the, what like 3 weeks, train ride pulled into Middlesbrough station. Since I left Middlesbrough, and moved to Sunderland, I've felt really nostalgic for the town. Yeah it's scruffy and crawling with undesirables, but it is MY cesspit. I walked through the town, towards the bus station, trying not to look at all the DVDs as I walked through Zavvi.

I got on the bus, and asked for a return to Redcar. It was £4.60. The busses have really got expensive around Middlesbrough recently. I don't understand where the money is going because the busses are terrible. It doesn't help that I have to get the 63, which everyone in Middlesbrough hates. The journey took too long as always as it was right at the beginning of rush hour, but the 63 is impossible if you want to get anywhere.

I got home to be greeted by Maxi, our dog. He was too excited. He didn't know what to do so he just ran backwards and forwords making a strange noise. I saw my sister Danielle, said hello, then went into the lounge, which has changed a lot since I was last there. There was so much brown, it looked as if Snuffelupagus or however it is spelled, had exploded in there. They had a huge big screen TV though, which I will enjoy watching the football on over the 3 weeks.

My Mother came in, but didn't have the money so she sent me to the back to get it. I did, gave her the card back and then set off for home, taking the same journey back. I wanted to get away with not paying again, but again, the guy came and asked for my ticket, so I had to buy one. I realised why I always get caught on the way back though, and it's because Middlesbrough is the first stop, so everyone on it must have just got on.

I saw a friend on the train and sat with her, and caught up. I've known her for years. I used to walk to her house on Sunday morning, and get a lift with her, her sister and her Dad to Church and to the youthclub I went to, TNT. Eventually, we just kind of stopped seeing each other because I am 2 years older than her, and I turned away from religion. She was a lot more tolerable now than what I remember. I preferred her sister because she was less of a pain. She now goes to my University, but we live in seperate halls of residence, so we parted ways in the town, and went back home.

I got home, and then went to the shop. I bought some pasta and sauce, and Craig, the boyfriend of one of my flatmates, gave me the extra bit of steak they had. Considering I've been living on bread and beans for 2 weeks, this was the best meal I had ever had, as far as I was concerned.

Then I decided to start the assignment that has to be in tomorrow. I've been doing that ever since. I'm not looking forword to tomorrow. Some big teaching conference we all have to go to. It sounds like it's going to be so boring, then we are going for a meal.

25th March 2008

Well I stayed up all night, barring 2 hours I managed to get, and the website came back on at about 8am, so I sat and did it. I got it finished by about 2pm, sent it, then went to bed for a couple of hours.

Nothing really to say today, as the rest of the day, we just sat and chatted about this and that.

Pretty boring day really.

24th March 2008

Today seemed to lure me into a false sense of security. I woke up about 1 because it was 8 hours after I went to bed, as I'm still sticking to my sleeping routine. I was feeling in the mood to do my assignment for once, so I went in the shower, optimistic. Came out of the shower, got ready and dressed and turned on my computer.

I decided to check all my emails, Facebook, MySpace and IMDb, and then get to work and not touch MSN or any non-work related websites until my work was done.

Half way through checking my Facebook emails, our Wireless Internet box decided to break. So now, our flat does not have the internet. Great timing the day before my deadline. Nothing like Murphy's Law to start your day off with a bang.

Of course, I first thought it must be the whole network and it will be dead all night, but after phoning Slater, I found out it was just our box. He offered to let me use his room but I would be uncomfortable and would end up with a bad neck and back.

I decided I was going to wait till 5 to see if it comes back, while getting on with the group project for Handling Data. Sabina mentioned that she had to go to the library so I decided to go wth her. It's a shame though because Mandeep's friend who was visiting, Angela, is really cool, but I have been so bogged down with work, I haven't really spoke to her much other than Saturday night. I said goodbye to her before going to the library as it looks like I'll be there all night, and won't see her again, as she leaves really early tomorrow morning.

I walked to the library with Sabina and it was so cold. I'm not sure if I've ever been that cold with my coat on ever. When we got to the library, things just got from bad to worse. The computers in the library were terribly slow and wouldn't load up certain websites, and there was a yellow fingernail (at least, I hope it was a fingernail) on the table which I could only just about bare to flick away. I decided to go back home and get my laptop.

I managed to walk for about 5 minutes before the snow started. It was an instant blizzard and it instantly reminded me of 'The Day After Tomorrow.' No matter which way I turned, the wind and snow was right in my face the entire duration of the journey. If I hadn't known any better, I would have sworn my nose was about to fall off. I nearly slipped down the bank near my flat too, but I managed to grab the hand rail in time.

I got back to the flat to find out that the internet came back on, but I had to go back to library because I had left Sabina there by herself, and I hadn't signed out because the security guard said there was no need if I was returning. I packed up my laptop and left.

The way back was slightly better. Still a large amount of snow and sleet on the floor but it was manageable.  I got back to the library, set up my laptop to find out that actually, the website is simply not working, and if I had have known that, I could have saved myself from walking.

I sat in the library hoping it would come back at some point. It got to about 8pm when I decided to email my teacher to ask for an extension because it isn't my fault the website doesn't work. I doubt I'll get an extension though. I had pretty much resigned to the fact that I have failed this assignment. I got a text message from my Mother though, which hinted that my Auntie was starting trouble.

My Auntie and my Mother have fallen out and don't really speak much due to my Auntie being kind of vindictive and lies about my Mother a lot. She had told my Mother that I had no money and she asked me if I had said anything to her. I thought it was the perfect end to the evening, that my Auntie would drag me into something I really didn't need to be. I phoned her when I got home and luckily, I had thought the worst and it wasn't what I thought. I just read the tone of the text message wrong.

I got back, tried the website one more time, realised it wasn't working still so I had the last of my bread. I sat in Mandeep's room and talked to her and Angela about the differences between men and women, and how good guys get looked over. I have decided it is all about confidence. Girls like confidence, and the guys who are oozing confidence, are pretty much also oozing due to an STI. That or they are just horrible to girls. Oh well.

Then I left their room, said goodbye to Angela again, and decided to check the website again. It still isn't working. I'm going to stay up as long as possible in hope, and try and get it finished.

23rd March 2008 (Easter Sunday)

Last night was pretty fun. We went out with our friends and Mandeep's friend who is visiting. She is called Angela, and she is really fun. She spent the night trying to get me to smile in photos so there are way too many random photos of me stood doing nothing.

Today started off OK. We had to get up early because my flatmates wanted to go out for a meal to celebrate Easter. I woke up about 11 and surprisingly I wasn't tired after last night. I think my sleeping routine of only sleeping for 8 hours is starting to work out well. I don't feel quite so tired during the day, although with my lack of money and food, I'm eating more of what little I have.

I was ready within 30 minutes as always, and as I know the rest of them won't be ready for a good while, I watched two episodes of 'The League of Gentlemen'. After watching them, I turned off my computer, and went to see where all the rest of my friends were. Christina, Matthew and Angela were in Mandeep's room with Mandeep. We sat for a while waiting for Claire, Sabina and Rebecca to get ready, as always. After 30 minutes, they finally get ready and we set off.

We went to a place called 'Chesters' on Chester Road, which I had never seen or heard of before. This surprised me since it was like a giant castle close to where I used to live. Unfortunately, it was a pub, and it just so happened that there was a big football match on, Manchester United vs Liverpool, so the pub was packed. Me, Sabina, Rebecca and Slater were told to get this corner seat before someone else did, then the others disappeared. Rebecca was fairly annoyed that they hadn't even told us they weren't sitting with us, because we assumed they were looking for a bigger table. Sabina seemed quite upset by it, because she didn't see the point of going out as a group, to then sit away from each other. Sabina was also a bit upset due to the fact that we were the four people who weren't living with the rest of them last year, although it was clearly coincedence.

The meal was good, and I let Sabina pay for it, begrudgingly. I had a sunday lunch, and part of Sabina's lunch and dessert because she couldn't eat it. I think she was just nervous about the date she had later in the evening. We had good fun, just basically talking about completely random, stupid stuff, whcih to be honest, isn't unusual.

We apparently had plans to walk to a park near the Winter Gardens but it started to snow, and the girls didn't like that idea, so we just walked back to our flat. We sat in the lounge, just talking about random stuff, and we decided to watch the videos we filmed in Ireland. They didn't give an apt view of the holiday because we all really enjoyed it, yet the videos were pretty boring.

Since then, we have just been sat around in the lounge, achieving absolutely nothing. I logged on to MSN and saw that Maddy was online. I really like her and wish I hadn't been so nervous when she was here last. She sent me two songs by a band she likes called Gogol Bordello. She described them as a "gypsy punk band".

I plan to wake up early tomorrow and finish my E-Commerce assignment.
